A vibrant city that has something for everyone, Toronto is a great place to explore with kids. From scaling the world’s tallest free-standing structure to stepping back in time at Casa Loma, there are plenty of fun family activities that are sure to please.
If your kids are into Legos, then they will love to visit the LEGOLAND(r) Discovery Centre Toronto which is home to 3 million bricks under one roof. They can climb and slide through a maze of LEGO(r) structures, ride on a few popular rides including the Ferris wheel and carousel, enjoy a 4D cinema experience or try their hand at being master model builders in the workshops. There’s even a Miniland where they can see Toronto’s iconic attractions made out of LEGO(r)!
Kids will also love the Toronto Islands and their many waterfront parks where they can get some fresh air. Most parks have jungle gyms, splash pads and trails for active kids to burn off energy. For an added treat, head to the Rogers Centre to take a tour with the kids and show them the stadium where the Toronto Blue Jays play.
Another great place for a day out with the family is the Toronto fun family activities in Toronto Zoo which houses over 1,500 animals. The exhibits are beautifully designed and there’s plenty of activities for the whole family. If you’re looking for a bit of art culture, make your way to the Art Gallery of Ontario which has a collection of over 90,000 works.
The Ontario Science Centre is another fantastic option for hands-on learning, and it’s especially fun for kids who are interested in dinosaurs or other areas of natural science. You’ll find the museum has numerous interactive exhibitions for them to learn about our planet and how it works.
If you’re visiting during the winter, be sure to check out The Bentway’s Family Day Skate Party event where your family can skate through the figure-eight skating trail at the park and dance to the beats of Toronto DJs. Alternatively, visit Bloor-Yorkville Icefest and take in the magical display of over 40 ice sculptures that are crafted from more than 60,000 lbs of ice.
